Do your roster files suffer from duplicate IDs, badly formatted fields, or other maladies? If so, the Edusoft Data Validator can help.
The Data Validator is a desktop application that helps you find problems in your roster files before you send them to Edusoft, reducing roster turn-around time and ensuring accurate data in the Edusoft system. As an added benefit, the Data Validator can also help you maintain clean data within your SIS.

The Data Validator is a desktop Java application that is deployed via Java Web Start. To run the Data Validator, you need the Java Runtime Environment (JRE), version 1.4.2, which includes Java Web Start.
To install Java:
A new window with a license agreement for Java Runtime Environment, version 1.4.2 appears.
A list of Java installations, categorized by platform, appears.
You are prompted "Do you want to run or save this file?"
A link to launch the Data Validator appears.
The Data Validator is a desktop Java application that is deployed via Java Web Start. Simply click the link below and the application will download and start.
To download and run the Data Validator:
A security warning dialog appears:
This warning appears because the Data Validator requires your permission in order to create files on your hard drive.
You are prompted regarding Desktop Integration:

If you choose Yes, an icon for the Validator will appear on your desktop and in your Start menu. We recommend that you opt for Desktop Integration, but if you prefer not to add an icon to your desktop you can always launch the Data Validator from www.edusoft.com/validator.
The Data Validator runs.
