Why use district benchmarks?

Foundations for Success, research conducted by the Council of the Great City Schools, found that urban districts that improved student achievement and narrowed achievement gaps frequently monitored student achievement.

Successful districts "gave early and ongoing assessment data to teachers and principals as well as trained and supported them as the data were used to diagnose teacher and student weaknesses and make improvements."

These districts implemented formative diagnostic assessments quarterly or more often. These were not high stakes exams, but rather were used to better inform instruction.

Automatically grade district-wide exams using paper answer sheets and inexpensive scanners.

step 1Create plain paper answer sheets for your district exams in a matter of minutes using your existing exams and Edusoft's easy test alignment tool.
step 1Grade answer sheets using Edusoft's low-cost (~$500) scanners located in each school site. Scan and grade a class of 40 students in two minutes and a school of 1000 students in under an hour.
step 1Provide instant results to administrators, teachers, and parents. Teachers see aggregated class scores and individual student scores broken down by standard. Principals and district administrators immediately use test results to track students in intervention programs, and slice data by school, grade, teacher, ethnicity, or state/federal program.
Highlighted Features:
icon Automatic Grading: Instantly grade and aggregate data using the power of the Internet. No more shuttling around answer sheets or using spreadsheets to calculate statistics. icon Teacher Reports: Help the teacher identify problems with individual students and easily identify class trends.
